UPDATE (3:45 AM): Power was restored.

UPDATE (1:07 AM):: Power outage map updated (See above) and Dominion NOW says 2,499 customers remain without power in Alexandria, Virginia.

UPDATE (1:01 AM): Power out near King Street Station as well.

UPDATE (12:54 AM):: A circuit breaker belonging to Dominion failed this evening causing the widespread power outage according to Dominion Power. The power company informed us that the power should be back online sometime between the hours of 2am – 4am.

UPDATE (12;50 AM):: Number of customers without power in Alexandria, Virginia has risen to 3,152 according to Dominion POwer.

UPDATE (12:48 AM):: An important REMINDER: If traffic lights are OUT due to outage it is a 4 way STOP.

UPDATE (12:32 AM):: LOL! Dominion Power, on their outage map, says #AlexandriaVA outage total went from 3049 to 3048 – at least someone got power back.

UPDATE (12:26 AM):: Dominion saying power restoration should occur sometime between now and 5:00 a.m.

More than 3000 customers are currently without power tonight in Alexandria, according to Dominion Power. The cause of the outage is pending investigation, according to the power company.

The map shows two (2) outage areas affecting customers in the Carlyle area as well as Taylor Run, QUaker Hill and Seminary Ridge. This includes yours truly (thank God for personal hotspots).

Dominion has not stated the cause or any timetable for restoration as of yet. If your power is out, be sure and report it at this link.
