A section of the Eisenhower Avenue Trail in the Eisenhower West neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia will be closed on Friday, December 22, for scheduled maintenance. Utility contractors will be raising utility boxes, making them level with newly installed pavement and ensuring a smooth, continuous surface.
The work will take place on the south side of Eisenhower Avenue, opposite the Great Waves Waterpark. Bicyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use the north side of the trail, which will not be affected by the work, as an alternative route. The south side of the trail is expected to reopen on Saturday, December 23.
The Eisenhower Avenue Trail extends from Cameron Run Regional Park to Stovall Street, near the Eisenhower Metro Station.
