Lows Sunday morning were the coldest of winter 2017-2018 do far in the D.C. area, dropping below zero at both Dulles Airport (-1 degree low) and Baltimore Washington International Airport (-1 degree low) in Maryland.
It is colder Sunday morning because arctic high pressure sits directly over Virginia. Clear skies, light winds and the snow cover are allowing temperatures to crash down to near or below zero in many areas.
