Published

on

Australia is a beautiful country. With amazing landscapes and exclusive wildlife living in its natural habitats, the country is one of the most desired tourist destinations worldwide.

Many beaches are spread across Australia, and all of them are unique in their own way, from the stunning coastline views to warm waters that anyone can enjoy at any time of the year.

Therefore, if you are planning a vacation to Australia and are looking for some interesting places for your itinerary, what better place to visit than Australia’s finest beaches with crystal clear waters and breathtaking scenery?

Here are the ten best beaches in Australia you can visit:

1. Bondi Beach, Sydney

Bondi Beach is one of Australia’s most famous beaches and is located in Sydney. This beach is a popular tourist attraction because of its beauty, scenic views, and great waves.

The main attraction of this beach is its golden sands and crystal clear waters. The water here is so clear that you can see your feet clearly while you are swimming.

Bondi Beach has many attractions, such as a lifeguard tower, an outdoor gym, and cafés where you can have a relaxing time. If you want to spend some time with your friends or family, this place is perfect for you because it offers many facilities such as volleyball nets and basketball hoops.

Several events are held at this beach every year, like the Bondi Beach Festival.

2. Surfers Paradise Beach, Queensland

Australia is very well known for its surfing opportunities. And Swimming Paradise Beach is a perfect place to soak in some sun and the chilled, surfing atmosphere.

It’s set on Gold Coast in front of its scenic panorama of the city. It’s pretty long and lined with shops, cafés, and restaurants. On Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday nights, you can enjoy the Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets which feature hundreds of artisan products, from clothing to souvenirs and jewelry.

Along the coast, you will find a number of amazing spots for swimming and beginner surfing. Even though this beach can get pretty crowded, both the sand and water are usually clean.

3. Nudey Beach, Fitzroy Island, Far North QLD

Nudey Beach has become a popular destination for those looking to get some sun and sea in the buff. The beach is located on the northern side of Fitzroy Island, a popular tourist destination in the Whitsundays region of Central Queensland.

It’s not just tourists who flock here. Locals also enjoy the beach as it’s a safe place for families with children to swim and snorkel. The sandy beach is fringed by limestone rocks which provide plenty of shade from the hot tropical sun. There are toilets and showers near the car park for public use.

4. Golden Beach, Queensland

Golden Beach is an unspoiled, open-air museum of natural wonders – a place where the sea and sand are still pristine, and the sunsets are spectacular. At Golden Beach, you can relax, swim, snorkel, or dive in crystal clear waters, walk along miles of golden sands, and explore an amazing variety of marine life.

The beach at Golden Beach is one of the safest in Australia for swimming. The water is shallow for hundreds of yards out to sea, so it’s easy to get back onto shore if you have to.

There are no strong currents or rip tides, and there are no sharks or crocodiles here. The water temperature averages all year round, so you can swim any time you like without getting cold.

5. Four Mile Beach, Port Douglas

The name says it all. This beautiful beach is four miles long and stretches along the coast of Port Douglas. It’s a popular spot for swimming, fishing, snorkeling, walking, and cycling.

The beach is home to a number of wildlife species, including turtles, dugongs, and dolphins. There is also plenty of fish in the waters around the beach, so it’s not surprising that it’s one of Australia’s best beaches for fishing.

6. Whitehaven Beach in Whitsundays, Queensland

Whitehaven Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. It’s a very long beach with soft white sand, surrounded by lush rainforests.

This beach is located on Whitsunday Island, an outer island of The Great Barrier Reef. The sea around this beach is a deep blue, and it looks amazing when you stand on the beach. This beach has no waves, so it’s perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

The water is also very calm, so it’s safe for children as well as adults to swim here. If you want to get some sunbathing done while you’re here, then there are plenty of places on this beach where you can do so safely without getting burnt.

There are also some trees growing along the edge of this beach which provide shade if you want to get out of the sun for a bit.

7. Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay, New South Wales

Hyams Beach is a popular surf beach on the south coast of New South Wales. The beach is backed by a large car park, which makes it popular with families, and there are toilets and other amenities nearby. The beach is sandy and shallow, with a gentle slope into the water.

The water here is warm and clear, making it ideal for swimming. The waves can be quite strong at times, but they are well-suited to bodysurfing and boogie boarding.

If you’re looking for something more relaxing, head to the beach’s sheltered section, where you can enjoy a swim without worrying about being knocked over by high waves.

8. Wineglass Bay in Freycinet National Park, Tasmania

The beaches of Freycinet National Park are some of Australia’s most famous, and for a good reason. The region is home to some of the country’s best beaches, including Wineglass Bay, which is often called one of the world’s best beaches by travel publications.

Wineglass Bay got its name from its shape — it looks like a wine glass from above. It’s a beautiful spot on Tasmania’s east coast, with white sands and turquoise waters that sit inside a national park full of wildlife and natural beauty. You can access the beach by foot or kayak, but if you’re not up for a hike or long paddle, then there’s always a place to stop along the road and take in the view.

9. Noosa Main Beach in Queensland

The Sunshine State is renowned for its golden beaches and crystal-clear waters. The Noosa Main Beach on the Sunshine Coast is one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. The beach stretches for over two kilometers and has a wide range of facilities, such as public toilets and showers, along with broad grassy areas that provide ample space for picnics.

The water here is so clear that you can see the bottom of the ocean floor. It’s also a great place to swim as there are many safe swimming areas along the beachfront where lifeguards are always on duty.

There are plenty of things to do around Noosa Main Beach, too — you can hire a bicycle or kayak and explore the area or visit one of the many cafes and restaurants nearby.

10. Cable Beach in Western Australia, Broome

Cable Beach is one of the top tourist destinations in Australia. It is located next to Broome, the capital of the Kimberley Region in Western Australia. The beach got its name from a telegraph cable that used to be laid across it. It is a long stretch of white sand and crystal-clear water, which makes it an ideal place for swimming and snorkeling.

The beach is surrounded by magnificent towering cliffs that rise straight out of the sea. Visitors can enjoy spectacular views of Cable Beach from these cliffs as well as from their rooms at the luxurious Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa. There are also several restaurants along the beachfront where you can enjoy delicious seafood dishes while enjoying a glass of wine or beer with your loved ones. This beach offers several activities, such as swimming, surfing, windsurfing, scuba diving, and boating.

11. Turquoise Bay, Western Australia

Turquoise Bay is a beach on the west coast of Australia. It is situated near the town of Exmouth, Western Australia, and was named after the color of its water. The area is one of Australia’s most popular tourist spots and attracts many visitors every year.

The turquoise water at Turquoise Bay is due to a large amount of limestone rising from the seabed and, when mixed with seawater, creates a beautiful range of blue colors. Also, the turquoise color of the water comes from the many types of seaweed and algae that live in the water. These plants are so colorful because they need sunlight to grow and survive. If you look closely at them, you will see that they have tiny hairs on their surface, which trap sunlight and use it to make food through photosynthesis.

The area around Turquoise Bay is also home to several different types of wildlife, including sharks, dolphins, and whales, making it an ideal location for snorkeling and diving.

Published

By

The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico has recently announced that Akumal is the busiest beach destination in Mexico. On the Yucatán Peninsula, Akumal is a coastal resort of Mexico’s Riviera Maya.

It is not only Akumal that has been busy, as there has been a 60.5% hotel occupancy rate across Mexico, according to Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco Marqués.

The hotel occupancy rate, which was taken over the first quarter of 2023, is nearly 10 percent higher than in 2022. This is according to the 70 centers monitored by DataTur, which provides tourism statistics information to the Government of Mexico.

Data further show that in this period, an average of 142,685 occupied rooms were registered in beach centers. This is an increase of 14.8% compared to last year’s number of 124,300.

In terms of occupancy rate, the beach center occupancy rate was 71.7%, nine percentage points compared to the same period in 2022.

The total number of tourists in beach centers was nine million during the first three months of 2023, while Mexican cities registered 10.8 million tourists in hotel rooms.

Of the total 19.8 million tourists from January to March 2023, Torruco Marqués highlighted that 13.9 million (or nearly 70% of the total) were nationals.

Torruco Marqués detailed that the busiest beach destinations with the highest occupancy levels in Mexico were:

  • Akumal – 87.6%
  • Playacar – 86.6% (Playa del Carmen)
  • Cabo San Lucas – 84.5%
  • New Nayarit – 84.4%
  • Puerto Vallarta – 83.6%
  • Cancun – 80.5%

Akumal which means “Place of the Turtle” in the Mayan language, is known for its white sands, warm waters, and rich marine life, including turtles of course. Akumal Beach, or Playa Akumal, features turquoise waters where only a certain number of simmers are allowed each day to protect the turtle zone.

Guests should get to the beach early, hire a guide to be able to find the best spots to swim with turtles.

By

Houston, Texas is situated in the southeast part of the state and near the coastline. It is known as home to me any prominent businesses and the organization NASA.

Many large cities have challenges with safety, and Houston, which is one of the largest cities in the country, is no exception to that. As a major presence in Texas, the city near the coast has for years been a growing metro area.

Crime Data from NeighbourhoodScout

More crime data on neighborhoodscout.com.

Neighborhoods in the Houston Area

In any large or small city, there are certain neighborhoods that are better or worse than others when it comes to crime and safety.

Houston is no exception to that. It is important to know which sections of the metro area are safe or not. And people should be extra cautious when they are in high-crime neighborhoods.

10 most dangerous neighborhoods in Houston (according to Property Club data)

  1. Sunnyside
  2. MacGregor
  3. Sharpstown
  4. Greenspoint
  5. Far North
  6. Northeast
  7. Northwest
  8. East End
  9. Sugarland
  10. Pasadena

Gang and Related Activity

Houston, as is true for many large cities these days, has a challenge with a gang presence. That invites many challenging activities and crimes. So residents and visitors of Houston should pay attention at all times and if possible not go to areas where there is a known gang presence. Activities such as gang-related crimes can be worse at certain times of the day or week.

Vehicle Safety

It is essential to consider safety at home as well as while away from home and traveling. In Houston, there are increasing incidents of serious issues like road rage.

There are also car break-ins and theft. Anyone using one’s own personal vehicle or a rental vehicle should be extra cautious. That includes keeping all windows closed and doors locked, and not keeping any valuable items in a vehicle.

Safety for Women

Women face an overall medium risk when it comes to safety in Houston. One of the best ways to work around any safety and crime risks is for women to not travel alone, and to travel with at least one other person.

Public Transportation

Many people use public transportation in Houston. They travel by bus, train, taxi, rideshare, and rental car. Travelers should be vigilant about being aware of their surroundings when traveling.

Terrorism Risks

Many large cities these days are at increased risk for terrorist activity to occur. Houston is unfortunately a city like that. So residents and visitors to Houston should be informed about the specific risk level at all times.

Natural Disasters

Because it is near the Gulf of Mexico and Galveston Bay, Houston can often be a prime area for hurricanes and other natural disasters to occur. So the weather is a serious safety concern. Hurricanes mainly occur between June and November. Residents and visitors to Houston should pay close attention to weather forecasts and be well prepared for hurricanes. In some situations, it is best to evacuate the Houston area when a hurricane is approaching.

Overall Safety

Houston overall has a long way to go when it comes to becoming safer. There are many crimes occurring, and safety is increasingly a concern. Specific crimes, such as assault, robbery, and vandalism are on the rise in Houston. While crime is increasing in recent years, it is everyone’s job to contribute to Houston being a safer place.

Houston is a great place to call home and an area where there is much to do and see for travelers. There are some safety challenges, so it is important to asses the risks and stay aware. Knowledge is power, so those can be great strategies for averting many safety concerns. Everyone can do his or her part to make Houston a safer and more enjoyable place to reside or travel.

TSA Claims To Be Prepared To Handle Busy Summer Travel Season

Published

on

By

According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), during the busy summer travel season, it will be possible to screen large numbers of travelers at airport security checkpoints across the country.

According to TSA officials, about 2.6 million passengers are expected to be screened on May 26, the busiest day of the extended Memorial Day weekend. To accommodate the influx of travelers, the agency has announced that teenagers aged 13 to 17 who are booked on the same reservation as the PreCheck-enrolled parents or guardians, will be allowed to accompany them through the screening process.

TSA representatives are urging travelers to sign up for a five-year, $78 PreCheck subscription that speeds up screening at checkpoints. 94% of PreCheck travelers waited no longer than five minutes at the checkpoint in April.

“TSA is ready to handle this summer’s anticipated increase in travel,” TSA Administrator David Pekoske said. “Our staffing levels are better and this is largely due to better pay for all TSA employees which starts on July 1.”

“Our strong partnerships with airports and airlines will ensure we are able to anticipate and respond to changes in passenger travel throughout the summer,” Pekoske said.

TSA is deploying innovative technology solutions across the country to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of security screening. These include Credential Authentication Technology (CAT) units that verify the validity of a passenger’s identification documents, flight details, and status prior to screening.

Agents are advising travelers to start their packing with an empty bag to avoid being caught with prohibited items at security checkpoints. Undeclared weapons are prohibited at security checkpoints and on aircraft, although passengers are allowed to travel with firearms if they are properly packed in checked baggage and declared to the airline.

TSA advises travelers to allow plenty of time to park or return a rental car, ride a shuttle to the airport, check in with the airline, check baggage, and prepare for security screening, as airports will be busy.

Respect for TSA agents and other airport and airline employees is one of the most crucial pieces of advice that the general public seems to have forgotten. Violence and disruptive behavior toward them is not allowed because they are there to ensure the safety of all passengers.
